Ethics and humanism are the main values of our Institute, allowing us to have a better understanding of the specific needs regarding reproductive and perinatal health in Mexico. We provide high quality health care through an attitude of service, meeting the standards of the national policies of health. INPer is an official educational institution that trains the best gynecologists and neonatologist of the country and offers six high specialties accredited programs, as well as Masters and PhD's. Almost 200 national and foreign students are trained every year at our institute.

Our Clinical Simulation Center aims to reinforce learning through cutting edge tools, to achieve the best techniques in our residents.

We know that research is the basis of all knowledge, that's why we promote the development of 10 lines of priority research focused on solving health problems in the perinatal area and mainly in the perinatal origin of adult diseases, including:

• Obesity and maternal metabolic profile as a predictor of fetal body composition, obesity and childhood neurodevelopment.

• Inflammation and oxidative stress during pregnancy and its association with microbiome in breast milk, newborn and infant.

We have 72 qualified researchers and students pursuing Masters and PhD degrees working in projects under these same research lines with internal and external financing, national and international.

A high healthcare level hospital, annually having more than 130,000 consultations and  3,500 births, one third of which are born prematures and two thirds are treated in our intensive and intermediate neonatal care units.

In the last four years we have made significant

achievements:

• The reduction of maternal death (since 2015

we haven't had a maternal obstetric death).

• From 2013 to date, the nosocomial infections

have decreased by 29% in the neonatal intensive

care unit.

• Cesarean sections have decreased from 70%

to 47%.

We are promoters of family planning, breastfeeding, early skin to skin contact, humanized birth, care to mothers with HIV and comprehensive care for pregnant adolescents.
